Aimed at the problems of high cost and the voltage will be over when speed isout of control of NdFeB permanent magnet synchronous motor used in electric bus.Itproposes to use Permanent Magnet assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor(PMaSynRM) as the drive motor in electric bus. PMa-SynRM has low cost, hightorque density and high safety.In this paper, first of all, the development situation of electric bus and drivemotor in electric bus are summarized especially.For the disadvantage of existingPMSM motor,PMa-SynRM was proposed to be as the drive motor.And then, theprototype electromagnetic design of200kW Permanent Magnet assisted SynchronousReluctance Motor is made, discussed and made simulation analysis of four kinds ofdifferent rotor structures,three kinds of different slot/pole combinations and somedifferent stator windings especially. The most suitable scheme for this issue wasdetermined. For complex conditions of motor multi-field joint simulation were done,including motor temperature field simulation of all parts of motor and the stress fieldsimulation of rotor to ensure the structural safety of rotor. A equivalent model ofPMa-SynRM was built with ldand lqfrom Maxwell, while establishing a platform forco-simulation Simplorer and Maxwell using to simulate actual working conditions ofmotor. Last of all, the electromagnetic design and production process of200kWPermanent Magnet assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor are introduced. Aimed atthe safety of the rotor, a improvement program was proposed including theelectromagnetic design process.
