The radiation environment has the ability of inducing temporal or permanentdamage on integrated circuits of aerospace. The concept of single event effects (SEEs)occurrence is derived from one incident ion striking or traversing on thesemiconductor device, and then induced the change of corresponded logic state ordamage of its performance. According to the technical methods for studying on SEEscharacterization, the accelerator-testing is the most practical and effective to researchon the fundamentally theoretical study, method of SEEs on-orbit prediction andassessment of device applied in the radiation space. To improve the accuracy of theaccelerator-testing SEEs experiment, the pre-requirement for the incident ions orion-beam has the high uniformity. To construct the effectively and accurately testedmethods for ion’s uniformity is of importance on the accelerator-testing SEEsexperiment. In the thesis, the parallel plate avalanche counter (PPAC) which is developed byInstitute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been applied in testingthe uniformity of ion-beam to evaluate and assess the SEEs profile. Using theintegration of system of data acquisition and analyzed software (physics analysisworkstation, PAW) to successfully achieve the in-situ measurement and analysis ofuniformity of ion-beam. In detail, the related precision of distinguished position andthe efficiency of this PPAC detection with the sensitive area of50×50mm2is about1mm and over97%, respectively. Fortunately, the above mentioned parameters are allstratified with the requirement of accelerator-testing SEEs experiments. With the aids of this equation and PAW software, the results of the uniformity ofion-beam have been accurately obtained and the valuable conclusions (evidenced by the accelerator-testing experiments) have been classified as follows.1) Flexibility of the PPAC fabrication process. PPAC has the ability to constructdifferent but proper parameters of sensitive area to adjust the requirement ofaccelerator-testing experiments. It has the good performance to test theuniformity of ion-beam to satisfy the SEEs experiment due to the highefficiency of detection and position resolution.2) Simplify and concision of PPAC operating platform. The correlated PAWanalysis software has the good matching program to integrate the obtaineddata from PPAC. The1D and2D spectra can be easily and effectivelypresented to quantify the uniformity of ion-beam.3) Quantification of the uniformity of ion-beam using the equation aboutuniformity of ion-beam.. The results show, the uniformity of ion-beam has thehigh accuracy and rapid data acquisition.
