As a result of higher running risk of ADS injector Ⅱ, a fast protection system(FPS) with functions of fault signal collection, protections output and fault logrecording is developed to protect field devices from the high-intensity proton beam.According to physical calculation, the FPS must be able to collect fault signals andoutput protections within10μs to prevent field devices from damage of continuousbombardment of the high-intensity proton beam.In light of all the requirements of the FPS, we construct the FPS by ourselvesbased on master-slave FPGA board and fiber optic network. After preliminary tests,the FPS with this board is evaluated to be able to meet the design requirements. Thispaper will focus on the design of schematic of FPGA board and PCB layout, as well assimulation and test results of the FPGA board. In addition, we not only analyze thesimilarities between the timing system and the fast protection system for ADS injectorⅡ, but also try to design a universal FPGAcontrol circuit board for both two systems.
