Water source area is not only the cradle of the Chinese nation, but also the cradleof all humanity. The birth of human civilization can not be separated from water andwater source area. Since the twenty-first century, with the development of economyand science, human beings have constantly eroded and destructed the water sourcearea. Evaluation and protection of water source area relates to both the nationaldevelopment and social stability. According to the functional characteristics and theinfluencing factors of Yuecheng Reservoir and the previous research results, afterconstructing the index system of water security evaluation of Yuecheng Reservoir andevaluating the water source by using the AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluationmethod, this paper proves the practicality of the evaluation method, and finallyproposes the corresponding safeguard measures basing on the evaluation results.This paper mainly concentrates on the study of the following aspects:(1) We can learn about the progress of home and abroad research on sourcewater area by referring to the corresponding information and then analyze theevaluation method and its defects. This paper selects the Yuecheng Reservoir as theresearch object for evaluation and plans the research route of security assessment ofYuecheng Reservoir to preparing for the following evaluation.(2) The function characteristics and influencing factors of water source aresystematically described and the sudden water pollution incident is comprehensivelyanalyzed. Then the framework of indicator system is built according to the severalsafety indicators that influence the safety of the source water area.(3) Based on the framework of the index system, we can evaluate the securitylevel of water sources by using the collected related information and monitoring data.We can determine the index weight by AHP and determine the evaluation index bythe established evaluation criteria. According to the given evaluation criteria, we candetermine the membership of each index to the overall security by the construction ofmembership function, calculation of membership and transformation using fuzzycomprehensive evaluation.(4) We can analyze and research by taking Yuecheng Reservoir source waterarea as an example. Using the above method to evaluate the safety of the reservoir and obtain the degree of membership of the classification security level and the overallsecurity level, we can know that the Yuecheng Reservoir water source area is in themedium safety state after researching on the above results. Finally, according to theindex weight of the safety level of Yuecheng Reservoir and its membership safetygrade, this paper proposes the water safety protection scheme combined with specificindicators for the Yuecheng Reservoir.
