The4190type medium-speed marine diesel engine manufactured by CNPC JiChai PowerEquipment Company is widely used as main propulsion plant on the fishing boats andgenerator’s prime mover on vessel. There are10years for4190type diesel engine being frommaking to batch production. Because of lack of oil resource and the limitation of emissionregulation, the fuel economy and emission performance of4190type engine can’t meet thepractical demand. The engine is necessary to be optimization and modification. Based on theabove considerations, the school replaces the original mechanical pump to the electron controlledunit pump to achieve4190type diesel engine electronic control modification. So the dieselengine can control the injection timing accurately. The economy and emission performance of4190type diesel engine are improved by making matching experiments between the fuel systemand diesel engine. Based on4190type diesel engine electronic control transformation projects,this paper provides the basis and direction for the diesel engine’s electronic controltransformation by using the diesel engine working process simulation.Firstly, the development status of the internal combustion model and diesel engine workingprocess simulation are analyzed. There is feasibility to simulate transformed4190diesel engineby working process simulation and optimist its performances by using AVL_BOOST Software.After studying the theoretical basis of the diesel engine working process simulation, this papercombined the transformed4190diesel engine physical model establishes the diesel enginesimulation model by BOOST software. The MCC combustion model is used to predict emission.The MATLAB software is used to calculate the boundary conditions of the BOOST simulationmodel and to process the diesel engine indicator diagram. The experimental data is used tocalibrate the BOOST model and to verify the correctness of the model.Secondly, this paper uses the BOOST model to simulate and calculate the compression ratio,the gas phase and the intake and exhaust system under the rated conditions of diesel engines andto obtain the optimal values of the parameters of these structures. The operating characteristics ofthe diesel engine with turbocharger under propulsion and load condition are calculated by thesimulation model. The better of the two sets of diesel engine timing under fuel economy modeand low NOx emission mode are achieved by calculating and optimizing timing under thevarious operating conditions of the diesel engine.Lastly, the electronic pump fuel system simulation model is built by using AMESim software and calculates the rate of injection under different hole diameter of injector. This paperuses the BOOST model to calculate and match the different hole diameter of injector and dieselengine. The calculation and analysis of the working process simulation optimizes theperformance of the diesel engine and provides a theoretical basis for the electric controltransformation of4190type medium-speed marine diesel engine.
