With the fasting development of computer and computer technology, by the use of computer, the I.C.engine design and testing make part of the design work gradually separate from the stage of experience and half-experience design, which provides a quick and accurate calculation mean for us. The work circulation of a diesel engine is a very complicate physical and chemical process, the purpose of the thermal calculation in the work process is to truly reflect the physical and chemical process of a diesel engine cylinder inner circulation and find out the quantity relation between the various factors and performance indexes so as to select the optimized parameters.This paper is about the performance research of WD615.50 direct injection diesel engine. Use the AVL BOOST software to simulate the diesel engine work process. The result of experiment and simulation are analyzed and compared with each other. According to the diesel engine work process computation foundation and the AVL BOOST software computation principle, the diesel engine analog computation model is build up. On the base of the working model, the engine's speed characteristics at1000 r/min, 1600r/min and 2200r/min are respectively simulated. The result indicates the analog data can tally with the empirical datum that confirmed the model is correct. On this base, with the using of the model, the influences of the compression ratio, the start of combustion crack angle and combustion duration and the vavle timing on the WD 615.50 diesel engine's combustion performance are studied. And then, each parameter is optimized computation and the best answer is validated.According to the optimization calculated results, the structural parameters of WD 615.50 direct injection diesel are changed, and the experiments are carried out. The comparison of the diesel engine performance before and after optimization shows that the diesel engine's specific fuel consumption, exhaust temperature decreased and the power increased. There could be some consult signification in the engine design and performance analysis, which reached my paper's research goal.
