With the development of society, energy has become the primary problem facedby human beings. And solar energy as a new type of green renewable energy, has theadvantage that the reserves big, long service life, no pollution, and thus become oneof the most promising new energy resources, development potential is huge, so it isbecoming a hot spot of research all over the world.Through to the numerous solar power failure data statistics all over the world,the "hot spot effect" is the largest probably and the most harmful factors of thephotovoltaic batteries’ failure. To solve this problem, the inspection and monitoringprograms commonly used at home and abroad, there are various problems for them,including unable to real-time monitoring of environmental parameters, can’t wirelesstransmission, unable to remote control and the accuracy is low.In order to resolve the in-situ monitoring the individual solar panel performancein the serially connected system, a new online monitoring system based upon ZigBeewireless network with CC2530SOC was designed. Data acquisition node collects thevolt-ampere data through the hardware circuit and various real-time data through thedigital temperature and relative humidity sensor and sunshine amplitude meter mining.The collected data is transfer to the gathering node through the ZigBee wirelesssensor network, and then to the computer terminal via the RS232serialcommunication sent, and processed by computer software. Finally, using the fillfactor of photovoltaic cells and wavelet transform to judge the fault of photovoltaicpanels.The new system utilized relevant principles of signal processing theory toidentify the degraded solar panels, e.g. internal resistant increase due to hot spots onthe specific solar panel during operating. In comparison to the current availablesolutions, our design not only improved the accuracy and reliability but also lessexpensive. Thus, the new design provided a new solution to this critical problem insolar industry.
