Currently, there are some disadvantages of domestic hot water system inuniversities,such as capacity of system equipment is too large and the running costs istoo high. As the demand pattern of domestic hot water is unreasonable in designprocess, which contain: the design index of domestic hot water system is too high, thecalculating temperature of cold water is unscientific and not distinguish differentpeople’s demand. So, the method of demand pattern of domestic hot water is putforward in domestic hot water system in universities, and stress on the actual situationof demand pattern of domestic hot water in universities, analyse how to influence keyequipment of the system and running energy-consumption, which can provide somereference to design domestic hot water system in universities.Firstly, in the study, the domestic hot water system in universities is researchedduring design process. The methods is described about domestic hot water system inuniversities based on current design methods and application indexs. Demand ofdomestic hot water and equipment capacity of system are calculated based on projectexample.Analysed the actual running datas and expected index in design process,there are three main reasons, which led to large equipment capacity and high runningcost in domestic hot system:(1)The high water consumption in personal daily life.(2)The cold water temperature is too lower in domestic hot water system.(3)There are no distinction to different crowd.Then, plenty of questionnaires and follow-up investigation are made to researchthe demand of domestic hot water in universities. The data are analysed and classified,we can acquire, concentration water-supply for male dormitry, dispersionwater-supply for male dormitry, dispersion water-supply for female dormitory,3demand modes of domestic hot water system. From the investigation, some problemswere verified in domestic hot water system during design process.So, the detaildemand of domestic hot water can be aquired to the3demand modes:the demand ofhot water for concentration water-supply for male dormitry need19.0L for one personin a day,the demand of hot water for dispersion water-supply for male dormitry need14.6L for one person in a day,the demand of hot water for dispersion water-supply forfemale dormitry need36.66L for one person in a day. Finally,TRNSYS is adopted to establish model of domestic hot water systemwhich combined solar energy and ground source heat pump.The relationship betweenhot water flow in unit volume and key equipment capacity can be obtained bycalculating different demand mode of domestic hot water system,as the consumptionhot water flow increase1m~3,the area of solar thermal collector increase11.153m2,thesolar heat storage water tank increase0.565m~3,the heat capacity of Ground SourceHeat Pump Crew increase3.563kw, the ground source heat pump heat sto rage watertank increase1.175m~3, and the length of buried pipe increase56.097m.The generationrate of hot water of solar thermal collector and electricity consumption of heat pumpcould be acquired based on the3demand modes of domestic hot water system.
