With the increasing of automobile production and energy consumption, the trendof automobile lightening is turning more and more evident. Therefore, researcher paymore attention to research about light weight material in automobile. Traditional steelmaterials are being replaced by plastics, composites etc. This thesis dedicated to theresearch about manufacturing automotive interior part by lightweight compositematerial, whose reinforcing phase is ramie fiber and matrix phase is polypropylene, and the part is manufactured by injection molding process. This thesis described the progress of injection molding process and injectionmolding simulation, explained basic theory of injection molding process and how tomodelling injection molding process. The article also introduced the softwareMoldflow and its module, by which the injection molding process simulation of thepart was done.Based on ramie fiber reinforced polypropylene composite material, this articlechose B pillar of automobile as the research object and studied the injection moldingprocess. First, this thesis formed the model of B pillar, and built, diagnosed, repairedthe mesh of the model. And the gating system and cooling system were designed andbuilt. With the help of mold flow analysis software Moldflow, based on theOrthogonal Test, the effects on part’s quality of the injection molding processparameters were studied, including filling time, packing pressure, mold temperature, melt temperature and packing time. The test index of Orthogona l Test was warpingdeformation of the part. This article have optimized the injection molding processparameters of parts with different fiber content, have got the optimum parameters ofinjection molding process. By analyzing the influence on parts’quality of theseparameters with the range analysis method, a conclusion has been drawn that the maintwo factors is filling time and packing time. By simulating the injection moldingprocess, analyzing fiber orientation and modulus distribution with the optimumparameters of parts with different fiber content, other conclusions have been drawn:the average orientation of the fibers in parts increase with increasing fiber content;parts’modulus also increase with increasing fiber content; the warpage of partsincrease at first and then decrease with increasing fiber content; and the orientation of the fibers can exacerbate the warpage, warpage can be restrained as the modulusarriving enough value.
