As the pollution of fossil fuel to environment and the shortage situation ofenergy becoming increasingly serious, the development and utilization of renewableenergy have become a high-profile focus. The rapid developments of new energy,such as wind turbines, photovoltaic cell, raised the economical efficiency of newenergy. But the new energies have some disadvantages, for example the randomnessand volatility, strong randomness and volatility of new energy have negative effects tothe grid, and it’s a problem need to be solved. Hybrid power technology can use thecomplementarities of different kinds of new energy, and raise the reliability of thepower system. This can decrease the negative effects of new energy to the g rid, andincrease the competitive advantage of new energy. The use of hybrid solar-windpower generation system becomes more popular in recent years. But there are fewResearches on the complementarities of hybrid power system, and the study on thereflecting and evaluation of complementarities of hybrid power system in-depth. Thethesis studies the following contents.First, based on different types of hybrid power generation systems and theirimpacts, this article integrated and summarized the improvements of hybrid powergeneration system in all aspects of performance, comparing to a stand-alone system, italso raised comprehensive evaluation index system from the four aspects of systemreliability, stability, economy and environmental friendliness to build a hybrid powersystem. Based on the characteristic of our wind and solar, analyzed and verified thecomplementarity between the wind and solar.Second, to begin with analyzing the complementary indicators in the severalkinds of cases: different aspects such as the reliability, stability, economy andenvironmental protection; different indicators under the same method in the sameaspect, different indicators under different methods in the same aspects, finallyanalyzed the promoting or restricting relationship between different indicators.Third, the paper used the Hybrid2software to set up the system modeling of windand solar power system, regarded the proposed indicators in total cost difference orunit cost difference as the optimization objective, and used the rest of the indicators asthe limiting condition to evaluate the comprehensive optimization. The simulationresults illustrated application of the complementary indicators in th e actual design, and also verified the feasibility and correctness of the proposed indicators.
