In order to meet the requirements of relay protection configuration, equipment selection, fixed value setting and system operation, setting calculation of relay protection concludes analysis and calculation, setting to cooperate for specific power system, is an extremely important work in power system operation.Setting calculation of relay protection requires a set of system data, which is in conformity with the distribution network operation. It is easy to ensure data accuracy, but how to make data model structure specification distributed, strong expansibility, convenient maintenance and sharing transmission, is a question which needs to be considered, so the CIM model, proposed in the IEC-61970standard, is an ideal implementation pattern. This paper focuses on the protection setting calculation system based on object-oriented and model driving, and the main work and achievements are as follows:This paper puts forward a method, which can either meet the diverse needs of the setting calculation of personnel, or avoid modifying the program frequently. The method adopts the object-oriented technology to build the relay protection setting calculation model, and realizes the setting calculation and fixed value generation in model driving way automatically. Based on the CIM model, this paper uses the Rdf Schema Editor model definition tool to define and maintain the rules of the system, truly realizing program’s adaptability of different matching rules. Besides, the model carries all types of power grid data by modeling the data format, and realizes the data distributed maintenance and sharing transmission. In addition, the system can fully meet the demand of practical application of setting calculation in the aspects of functional requirements, module design, calculation process, rule definition, formula editing and user experience., and the actual application effect is very good. The system has the comprehensive characteristics of a new generation of software, such as cross-regional collaboration, with permission of the local Shared, distributed data maintenance, data hierarchical partitioning model, data versioning, scalability, interoperability, custom interface and so on, significantly enhancing the comprehensive level of relay protection setting calculation work.
