Essentially, the goal of Regional power grid voltage and reactive power control is to guarantee the quality of the user-side voltage and realize Local balance of reactive power. The compensation equipments and the Transformer taps are the main conditioning equipment.Some reactive power optimization algorithmshave been analyzed in this thesis. Based on practical application, the control idea of the thesis is proposedIn this thesis, the Binzhouregional power grid is taken as an example and the structure and characteristics of the regional power grid is introduced in detail. Make a radial subsystem as a control unit and achieve global optimization in thesubsystem. For the characteristics and needs of the regional grid, A voltage and reactive power automatic control system (AVC) is developed which can closed-loop operation in the field. Based on the idea of French EDF company three-level reactive power and voltage control, the first level and second level are redefined and the coordinated and holistic performance is ensured between substation equipments in this thesis.The first level and second level control have the strong robustness and are suitable for practical application of engineering. The third level control optimizes the whole network, minimizing the network losses. But it is difficult to practice.The flexibility of human-computer interaction, on-site operational reliability and stabilityhave been considered in the system. The voltage and power factor assessment upper and lower limits, system optimization cycle and the number restrictions of sub-time equipment actioncan be set easily on monitoring clientOn the other hand, the system not only can automatically identify system failures, equipment failuresand communication failures, but also can set various latching manually.Based on the java language technology platform,a voltage and reactive power automatic control system (AVC) is developedin this thesis which has been put into operation in Binzhou. A detailed analysis is made for it. Compared with VQC, the proposed algorithm is more intelligent for the coordination and cooperation between substation equipment actions.Moreover, it has more practical application value compared with traditional reactive power optimization algorithm.
