Gantry type bucket wheel stacker reclaimer(GTBWSR) is a kind of continuous andefficient bulk material handling equipment, applied widely in coal-fired power plant,metallurgy, coking, mine corporation and bulk cargo storage yard in port. This type stackerreclaimer is popular for its advantage of stability, high handling efficiency and convenientto distribute different material. GTBWSR is mainly consist of steel structure, bucket wheelmechanism, long travel mechanism, movable beam mechanism, tripper car, tripperstacking reclaiming changer, reclaiming conveyor, stacking reclaiming conveyor, movableconveyor, counter weight mechanism, dust suppression system, walkway&platform,power supply device, operator’s cabin, E-room and electrical system etc..MDQ1700/1500.60GTBWSR is a large-sized equipment designed and manufacturedby Changchun Generating Equipment Group for Shanxi Liulin Power Plant. The60metersspan for GTBWSR is the longest in China at present.This paper analyzed the key mechanism design, model selection analysis and steelstructure development&design. In order to make all the mechanisms reasonable on design,the author carried out drive unit comparison between the key mechanisms, and finalizedthe best driving method for this project. The author makes primary calculation and finiteelement analysis to fulfill the operation requirement on intension, rigidity and stability, andit further saving the design cost. Assure the entire style for the first step. As the reason ofgantry type stacker reclaimer, the steel structure adopts gantry structure. For fix beam isgirder grillage structure. For the movable beam is the mix combination of double H beamand girder grillage. The rigid leg and flexible leg adopts box structure. Input the designaccording to “Technical agreement” after plan fixed. Organize designer to start primarydesign by AutoCAD, and followed with primary calculation and strength analysis.Optimize primary design plan and finally build model of steel structure by design softwareof ALGOR. Through model building and loading analysis awards stress, distortion andmodel analysis of steel structure under different work condition. Adjust the steel structuredrawing according to the result, until it completely fulfills the specification requirement.
