The light portal frame building of light steel frame structure has many advantages, suchas faster construction speed, lighter structural deadweight and better economic returns. Withthe economic development of our country, the demand of the light portal steel frame isincreasing in industrial and civil construction. So the choice of structural parameters andstructural style is the key to the structural safety and economic value in the process of thedesign.This article combines with the specific instance to analyze and optimize some designparameters of the light portal frame structure, using the portal frame design theory andSAP2000limited element software. Suitable structural slope, height-span ratio, the variablecross-section position of oblique beam and the style of beam-column nodes connection areselected in the structural design process. The beam optimization program is organized byMATLAB and C++software to optimize the oblique beam’s height, then the amount of thesteel for the oblique beam can save6%~7%after optimization.In this paper, the actual using situation of the portal frame structure is considered and theeffect of diaphragm on the portal frame structure is analyzed. SAP2000software is applied tocreate the diaphragm effect structural model with orthotropic plate instead profile sheets. Thediaphragm system can effectively participate in the resistance to horizontal load, enhance theoverall stiffness of the structure, role in binding to the lateral displacement of structure,reduce the size of the structural members and reduce the using amount of steel in thestructure.The analysis and optimization of the light portal frame structure parameters andstructural style provide some references for the light portal frame structure in the design.
