The paper was funded by Zhejiang science and technology project "research on flexible ecological retaining wall application in Highway". Based on literature and field investigation, the paper combined field test, theory analysis and simulation analysis, did some work on the deformation and stress laws of flexible reinforced retaining wall and design method optimization. In addition, the author also used plastic limit analysis method to make some research on flexible reinforced retaining wall such as ultimate load, ultimate height and gradient.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Through the field investigation, summarized the application effect of flexible reinforcement retaining wall, including Geo retaining wall, geogrid-ecological bag retaining wall and green gabion reinforced retaining wall.(2) Accomplished the simulation analysis using FLAC3D on the flexible retaining wall which located in K38+325-K38+485Section7of Shaozhu Highway in Zhejiang Province. Potential failure position and soil pressure variation had been studied through registering several indicators variation such as soil pressure, geosynthetics tensile stress, geotextile deformation and so on. Simulated the failure process of the retaining wall based on the observation of shear strain increment in the wall and vertical deformation with the increasing load of the top.(3) With the optimization tool box in Matlab, studied the optimization design of flexible reinforced retaining wall. Achieved the most economical design in geosynthetics on condition that the interior and external stability were both available.(4) Formula derivation on some key indicators of flexible reinforced retaining wall had been accomplished based on the plastic limit analysis method, such as ultimate load, ultimate height and gradient. And the formula had been used in the indoor model test of green gabion reinforced retaining wall related to the field structure in Section7of Shaozhu Highway.(5) The theory and application of flexible vegetation slope protection and landscape design were studyed in Chapter5, the key parts include the mechanical and hydrological effects of vegetation slope protection and landscape design of flexible slope protection.88pictures,10tables,100references...
