The widespread snowfall continuing presence in alpine region cause railway transport low efficiency and even paralysis,the scope of influence extremely popular and influential passenger quantity many, and caused great social influence. In order to weaken the negative effects on railway production because of snowfall, snowplow is installed at the front of trains and used to assist the train autonomous driving with high speed early in the snowfall,slowdown the negative impact on railway transport which caused by snowfall. Thorough research on the snowplow is consequential,which could decreasing the adverse impact and economic losses brought by snowfall.Selecting the snowplow on EMU as the research object in this paper, analyzing the determination of snow material mode and its parameters when numerical simulation method is adopted to research the exhaust snow process.Using FEM and EFG for numerical simulation of exhaust snow process, the distinguishing features of the two methods are pointed out.The results show that two methods are efficient in simulating the snowflakes,compared with FEM method,EFG method can simulate snow removal resistance better,for the numerical simulation of exhaust snow process,EFG method is more appropriate.Giving a detailed analysis for the load characteristic of snowplow and the influence of the factors,such as velocity,depth, density of snow,appearance of snowplow.Building a prediction model of snow removal resistance.Last,according to the design claims develop a snowplow,and the simulation analysis is presented. The accomplishments of this paper not only provided important guidance for the design of snowplow on EMU,but also enriched theoretics of other filed which linked snow removal,the research has fairly practicality.
