The continuous development of road transport was accompanied by the frequency occurring of traffic accidents.According to statistics,60%to70%road traffic accidents was directly or indirectly related with road condition. Therefore, road plays an extremely important role in traffic safety. To study the impact road has on traffic safety and improve the harmony reliability of road alignment is an effective way to improve road safety.Based on the access to relevant literature, harmony reliability analysis of road alignment was given. Mainly from three aspects:the harmony reliability of road alignment itself, the harmony reliability of road alignment and the drivers and the harmony reliability of road alignment and its surrounding landscape. The main content and results of the study are as follows:(1)The harmony reliability of road alignment itself was studied. Road alignment design was comprehensively considered from two aspects, including the relationship between the accident statistics and road alignment elements value and the relationship between the need of vehicle dynamics and the road alignment elements value, whereby each draw a set of value range of basic road alignment elements. Finally, those two sets of data were integrated through mathematical methods.(2)The harmony reliability between road alignment and the drivers was studied. It was carried out by driving experiments. The experiments including two parts:the outdoor real vehicle test and indoor driving simulation experiments. Driver’s heart rate was measured and road alignment condition was synchronously recorded by DV. For outdoor real vehicle experiment, correlation analysis was given by the use of SPSS in order to exclude the effects of time on heart rate. Linear combination corresponding to bigger fluctuation ratio was found, which were just the disharmonious alignment combination and should be avoid in alignment design. The relationship between drivers’heart rate change and the road alignment design elements was come up through the corresponding of heart rate to road design data. Road alignment elements value that is harmonious and reliable to drivers was calculated and integrated with the results given by chapter two, thus gained the harmonious and reliable road alignment elements value standard. Indoor driving simulation experiments was carried out at the enacted road section by10experiment people and gained10sets of experiment data. Five road sections that caused abnormal heart rhythms to multiple drivers were found after comparing the data to corresponding videos, which were just five typical disharmonious alignment combinations to drivers.(3)The harmony reliability of road alignment and its surrounding landscape was studied. The factors that affect the harmony reliability of road alignment and its surrounding landscape were analyzed, according to which evaluation index system was established. Back-Propagation Network analysis model for road alignment and landscape harmony reliability analysis was established and harmonious road landscape planning was recommended.(4)Taking Zhanghua Highway as an example, the appliance of route selection used in Zhanghua was studied. The harmony reliability of alignment design and the harmony reliability of alignment and its surrounding landscape were verified. The facts prove that the Zhanghua Expressway is a harmoniously designed highway.
