With the development of high-speed railway, our existing large-scale road maintenance machinery has been increasingly unable to meet the demand of work efficiency. At present, the main models of ballast distributing and profiling machine have been produced on the basis of SPZ-200which was introduced in the1990s. Judging from the current situation, this model has been lagging far behind the world-class level. Because of the unevenly ballasted unloading, the situation of ballast accumulation often happens in actual use. A new style of ballast distributing and profiling machine produced by CSU and some company in Zhuzhou has settled these problems down by optimizing the hydraulic and electrical systems on the basis of the existing machines.This paper reviews the research and the development of domestic and abroad on ballast distributing and profiling machines, and compares their technical parameters and performance characteristics as well. Then, it gives the process of the hydraulic system design and calculation. The main content is as follows:(a) A brief description of the overall composition of the new machine.(b) The selection of four wheels asymmetric drive mode in the contrast of running driver modes. This drive mode can meet a variety of conditions traction requirements on the basis of extended range.(c) This paper gives the design of closed hydrostatic system of the new machine. In the same time, it focus on the analysis of the running hydraulic system loop. Then, the technical parameters of main elements are determined by calculation. And the models of main elements are selected by confrontation.(d) It gives the design of the operating hydraulic system and the process of calculation on the basis of the analysis operating agencies.(e) Using AMESim simulation software, this paper has built the simulation model of running driving hydraulic system and operation driving hydraulic system, and analyzes the response of the system in different working conditions. Through the analysis of the simulation results and contrast, it shows that the hydraulic system meets to the requirements of the design.
