Research On Tourist-estate-themed Project Development

Tourist estate is a new and peripheral form of estate. It has been developing rapidly theseyears with the fast growing economy, the enhancing life quality and the change ofconsumption mode, bearing great development prospect. In comparison, the theoreticalresearch on tourist estate is rather weak and the related practice just get started. Within thiscontext, it appears necessary and urgent to undertake research in this field.This article is organized into two parts in terms of content: fundamental research andapplied research. One of the focuses in fundamental research is to define the concept,characteristic and type of tourist estate as well as to straighten out the research framework oftourist estate. Moreover, it also aims to summarize the overall orientation, project setups,planning feature, development process and marketing strategies of tourist estate projectthough the analysis of case studies in China and other countries. The fundamental researchwill provide theoretical instruction and practical reference for the applied research. Based onthe analysis on the development keys in the fundamental research, the applied part takes theNanning ASEAN Folk-custom Garden as the research object and adopts the SWOT analysisto explore the feasibility of tourist estate themed development in the garden, followed by thedefinition of the garden orientation and the specific plans of tourist estate themeddevelopment. Finally, the applied research further plan the garden in the aspect of spatialstructure and land layout, proposing the implementation suggestions and developmentstrategies in the near future. The paper concludes with the major results and views theprospect for future research on the tourist estate.This paper investigates the development mode and processes of tourist estate, aiming tosearch for related research insights which can be used to guide and inspire the practice in thisfield, as well as to provide theoretical and practical reference for the tourist estatedevelopment. As a result, it is of great theoretical and practical significance.
