Antifouling is one of the core work in operation and management of transmission line;If the event of a flashover is occurrence on one line, the safe and stable operation of powergrid and both economic and social benefits will be affected. In order to prevent theoccurrence of flashover, the grid company will invest a lot of manpower and materialresources to carry out amendments of polluted area maps, adjustment of insulator creepagedistance, water cleaning, etc. With the development of social economy and increasinglyscale of grids, atmospheric pollution is worsening. Especially there is so large number ofceramic production enterprise, metal processing enterprises as well as many real estatedevelopment projects and other large source of pollution in Foshan area that it’s antifoulingwork of transmission lines is facing extremely tough challenges. Tripping accident mayoccur at any time which is caused by flashover, that is a serious threat to the safe operationof the power gird in Foshan. Polluted area maps are important basis to guide the work ofantifouling. In accordance with the present stage of the transmission line operatingconditions, the traditional way of drawing polluted area distribution has been unable to meetthe new situation of transmission lines operation. Therefore, it is very importantsignificance that to adopt new technologies and new methods to enhance the polluted areadistribution mapping efficiency, reduce rendering costs and shorten the cycle to improve themanagement level of antifouling work of transmission lines for ensuring the safe operationof power grid. This paper introduces many types of online monitoring equipment and based ongeographic information systems and advanced information technologies to develop thedynamic online mapping system of polluted area distribution. It provides a new andefficient means to improve the efficiency of mapping and revision of the distribution of thepolluted area, to reduce the cycle time of rendering and to save labor costs, which has laid asolid foundation for achieving information technology, sophisticated, real-time managementofAntifouling work.
