With advantage of compact frame, excellent dynamical equilibrator and convenientmend, the rotary vane vacuum pump plays an important role in the vacuum equipment market.The traditional rotary vane vacuum pump is widely used in metallurgy, machinery,electronics, chemicals, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other industries. In recent years, withthe development and popularization of gasoline direct injection engine, hybrid and pureelectric vehicle, electronic pump gradually replaced the engine intake manifold, and becomethe main vacuum source of a car vacuum booster brake system. Through single vane vacuumpump is one kind of sliding vane vacuum pumps which has the advantages of simple structure,small energy consumption, durability, no additional devices, it will play an important role inthe future of the auto parts market.This paper studies functional construction, working principle, and the main factors whichaffecting working performance of the vacuum pump, and the reasons that influence thepumping speed, ultimate vacuum, noise, oil spills. Based on the performance requirements ofthe existing passenger car, brake system vacuum pump mounted on the engine camshaft. Thepaper also design a through single rotary vane vacuum pump prototype in order to meet themarket’s demand.The study of this paper contains that as followings. First, for the problem of lowexhausting speed, this paper proposes a new method of the pump body profile constructionand a new structure of rotary vane pump, decides mathematical model of the pump body, andestablishes a new mathematical equation of the cross-sectional area of the new workingchamber volume. Then, deduces the a specific formula and variation of the cross-sectionalarea of the rotational vane vacuum pump, decides the relationship between exhausting speedand the rotor diameter, And creates a pump sample. In addition, programmed a analysisprogram of the pump in order to make the adjustment and optimization of the parametersmore convenient. The performance of the vacuum pump is tested, and the test results arecompared with the theoretical analysis to identify the problems that existing in application of practical engineering.The results show that, with the design method for the pump mentioned in this paper, thepumping speed and ultimate performance of the rotary vane vacuum pump prototype can bemet. However, noise and other issues still exist, which need to be optimal designed later.Through the research, a feasible design methods and test data are provided for further researchand development on through single vane vacuum pump.
