Hui-style Architecture is one important genre of Chinese traditional houses and occupiesan important place in the Chinese history of architecture, and is a precious cultural inheritanceof ancient China,With its traditional crafts, unique style and distinguished achievements. Ithas been add splendor for the Chinese history of architecture.This thesis classified constuction materials of Hui-style Architecture and diged its artisticcharacteristics about technique,art and cultural dimension,and analyzed the materialperformance from their own characteristics and construction technology. This thesis alsoresearch the architectural elements of Hui-style Architecture by research their materials andcombined with case studies to researchthe relationship between traditional houses and new architecture creation.This thesis has six chapters,the background of this theis and the aim and significancehas been introduced in the fist chapter.The second part introduce the regional features ofHui-style Architecture and its reason and development process.The third part analyzeconventional materials and their own attributes from the material point of view. The forth partintroduce the five parts as roof,wall,wood,structure,pavage,decoration,according to theirdifferent materials. This part also introduce the construction technology and installationprocedure of different part of traditional houses.The fifth part introduce the relationshipbetween traditional houses and new architecture creation with case analyzing.The last part ofthis thesis summarize the significance of the study on Hui-style Architecture,and makeprospects of the development of regional architecture.
