With the increase of the new rural reconstruction and urbanization process, thereappeared a large amount of construction waste in towns and new countryside construction. The construction waste not only takes up huge tracts, but also causes pollution on the rivers, superficial layer of soil and groundwater resources. How to deal with the construction wasteand turn waste into wealth caused great concern among scholars both at home and abroad. Atpresent, the study of waste concrete has been quite mature and formed a relatively completetheoretical system. The waste concrete have already been applied to engineering constructionand produced great economic and social benefits. But only a handful of research institutionparticipate in the research of waste bricks and mainly focused on the basic mechanicalproperties of recycled brick aggregate and the recycled brick coarse aggregate concrete, butthe reports of the shear performance research of the recycled brick coarse aggregate concreteare not seen. This experiment is on the basis of the preliminary experimental exploration and mainlystudy the mechanical properties, failure mode and crack developing of the recycled brickcoarse aggregate concrete beam. At last, this paper proposed the formula of shear-bearingcapacity of the recycled brick coarse aggregate concrete beam. The formula can be used toprovide scientific basis and technical support for engineering practice. This experiment concludes five concrete beams, one of them is ordinary concrete beamand the others are recycled brick aggregate concrete beams, the replace rate of recycled brickaggregate are30%,50%,70%and100%respectively. Conducting the static loading test onthe5beams, we study the difference of the ultimate bearing capacity, the diagonal crackingdevelopment situation and the fracture morphology between the5beams which have the sameaxial compressive strength. Through comparative analysis, we draw the following conclusions:(1) Under the condition of the same reinforcement and concrete strength grade, the damageform of ordinary concrete beam of the recycled brick aggregate concrete beams and ordinaryconcrete beam is the same, they are all belong to shear-compression failure. Failure process issimilar and can be divided into elastic and inelastic phase;(2) With the increase of recycled brick aggregate replacement rate, crack load, inclinedcracking load and ultimate load of the recycled brick aggregate concrete beams show thetendency of gradually reduce on the whole; (3) With the increase of recycled brick aggregate replacement rate, oblique crack width ofthe recycled brick aggregate concrete beams is also gradually increased.(4) The shear mechanism of the recycled brick aggregate concrete beams and the normalconcrete beam is the same, but the shear strength of the recycled brick aggregate concretebeams is lower than the ordinary concrete beam, and aggregate interlocking also hasdifference. For these reasons, the ultimate bearing capacity of the brick aggregate concretebeams is lower than the common concrete beam.
