The running state of some main facilities of Urban Rail Train is directly related to the safety of the passengers. At present, operating enterprises have adopted corresponding monitoring method for the key equipment respectively, and generally the existing monitoring technologies combining with serial other communication technologies,(such as RS232, RS485, etc.), are used as primary data transmission means. Because the equipment monitored is usually far away from the monitoring center., a lot of manpower and material resources are needed to lay wire, cable and supporting facilities. Further more, due to the long communication distance, once the data transmission link is failure, it is difficult to fix position accurately and repair in time.In recent years, some domestic research institutes and the industry leading enterprises have proposed a new data communication mode based on ZigBee-GPRS technology. It has been successfully applied in the agricultural micro-irrigation, well monitoring and electrical equipment monitoring system, and it makes the technology product development come true.Based on such background, in this thesis, firstly study the existing technical theory of GPRS network, then combining with the technical advantages of ZigBee sensor network, a ZigBee-GPRS system monitoring model is put forward which is suitable for the Urban Rail Train key equipment monitoring, and it has the advantages of saving more energy consumption, longer transmission distance compared with data communication mode of infrared and Bluetooth, and has lower cost than traditional laying cable transmission mode.The design of GPRS-ZigBee gateway uses embedded Linux system as development platform, and the intelligent control of the whole monitoring system is realized. At the same time, it provides reliable long-distance transmitting platform for gathering terminal acquisition monitoring data, and make it possible for remote monitoring center to realize real-time monitoring of the running state of Urban Rail Train critical equipment.
