Nowadays, China’s railway entered a period of rapid development, with the establishment of the some passenger line, the speed of the railway vehicle will faster and faster. Accompanied by a comprehensive upgrade of the train speed, the passive safety of the vehicle having became important problem. In this paper, the High-Speed vehicle is the research object, based on the integration of materials and structures, and use of the virtual numerical simulation technology, researching on passive vehicle safety issues.First of all, describing the importance of vehicle passive safety, brief introduction the basic principles and key technologies on virtual simulation of the vehicle crashworthiness. Mainly includes the basic mechanics equations, algorithm, contact algorithm.Secondly, establishing five energy-absorbing structures, including ordinary double suction tube structure, three typical energy-absorbing structure have weakness and Aluminum foam energy-absorbing tube structure.Thirdly, establishing finite element model of the train body for highly nonlinear collision.Based on EN15227:2008standard, making the vehicle collision test for five different energy-absorbing structure. Evaluating of the overall passive safety of the vehicle, and comparing the results of various conditions, to analyze the performance of the various energy-absorbing device.Finally, according to the results of the above simulation analysis, integrating collision simulation software PAM-CRASH and multidisciplinary optimization software iSIGHT, making size optimization about energy-absorbing structure of the vehicle, in order to achieve the goal of energy absorption maximum and impact force smallest. Using of OptiStruct software make topology optimization for anti-collision device.According to the results of the paper, aluminum foam sandwich coupler energy absorbing device have the best performance in several indicators of acceleration and escape space. With fillet weak link energy absorbing device have the best performance in all weak link device. The size of the energy-absorbing structure optimization and anti-collision device topology optimization improving vehicle passive safety.
