The electric vehicle performance testing is an indispensable aspect in the designstudy and marketing of electric vehicles. The properties of electric vehicle drivesystem are the basis of vehicle performances, and it determines the power,braking,stability, safety and economy of electric vehicles. Therefore, the development of asuitable electric vehicles drive system test platform is very significant. On the onehand, it provides a real test environment for the study of the key technologies onelectric vehicles, and it can play an important role in finding a reasonable, reliableoptimization scheme. On the other hand, it provides a reference to the evaluationcriteria for the products on the market.Since the permanent magnet synchronous motor has compact structure, reliableoperation, high efficiency, high power density, low loss, the dimension design isflexibility etc, advantages, the most promising and the most widely used for electricvehicle motor. Currently available on the market electric vehicle drive motor testplatform mostly improved from the traditional motor test platform for a variety ofperformance test of the drive system can not be based entirely on electric vehicledriving conditions require. It is necessary to design a vehicle drive motor, especiallyelectric vehicles with a permanent magnet synchronous motor test platform. Thisarticle is based on such requirements for electric vehicle driven permanent magnetmotor test platform for the design and research work.First the paper introduces some of the historical process of development ofelectric vehicles and the development prospects, analyses various performance testingprograms of electric vehicle, introduces different national electric vehicle testevaluation system, and describes the research value for test platform of electricvehicle drive system.Then is the main part of the paper, the main content of the issues, including: thebasic principles of electric vehicle drive motor test system, made a detaileddescription of the energy flow in the operating conditions of the test platform andmade a detailed derivation and analysis of the measuring principle of the drive motor,introduce the principle and way of use the WT3000power analyzer to measure theinverter output power; compare with the advantages and disadvantages of the variousexisting test platform, put forward the drag test platform with low energyconsumption, and have the advantage that can fully simulate the actual working conditions of the drive motor designed for several models of the electrical propertiesof the drive motor electrical schematic diagram of the test items, and the test platformfor some equipment selection, carried out a detailed introduction to the majorequipment performance parameters, methods of operation.Finally, use a electric vehicles permanent magnet synchronous motor thedesigned test to make a test. The data of the experiment was recorded, drawn into thetest curves.The test results show that the design of the test platform can test all theperformance parameters of the motor, and the platform can work well.
