The Comparative Research Of The Hakkas Weiwu In Gan.Min.Yue

Since the Hakka Tulou in Fujian province have been known by the public, thistype of fortified dwelling located in Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangzhou province hasattracted increasing attention and raised academic researches. Although researches onthis type of dwellings are so many, the deep researches about comparative study aboutthe three provinces are far from sufficient. At the same time, the contents of theseresearches are introductory, and do not focus on architectural theories. Jiangxi, Fujian,and Guangdong province with different peoples and different cultures influence eachother. Fortified dwellings not only exist in Hakka, but in other peoples. So this paperchooses the dwellings in Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong provinces as the researchobjects, and uses the typology as the basic research method to explore the deepmeaning of the construction.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter reviews and summarizesthe background of current researches and the related researches in China and abroad,and then introduces the research methods and thinking. The second chapter mainlygeneralizes the background of the Tulou. As the common dwelling of Jiangxi, Fujianand Guangdong provinces, Tulou is not specific to coastal areas; it exists in interiorprovinces. The background analysis is quite necessary for the correct systemresearches. The third Chapter to the fifth chapter discusses the Tulou in Jiangxi,Guangdong, and Fujian provinces in depth including statistics on typical examples ofeach province, geographical distribution, classification based on typology, analysisthe contradictions between residential character and defensive character, and so forth.Based on the previous analysis and the results from current researches, the authoroffers a comparative method, which would be a reference for academia. In the last，thepaper make a research on the Tulou’s differences of each province, summarizing thedeep reasons behind these differences.
