With economic development and population growth, China’s building energy consumption increased year by year. In the context of new urbanization, green and low carbon development, urban residential building energy efficiency is an important part of urbanization and urban construction. We have a variety of existing residential buildings. The difference of building energy consumption is relatively large. At present, the research on energy saving of all kinds of residential buildings is lack of pertinence. Through the integration of regional urban construction information by GIS system, this paper constructs the analysis system of Architectural Typology, puts forward the optimization method of residential building design.Firstly, based on research object, index system, research content and expression,this paper studies the development process of Architectural Typology, and makes clear that the research belongs to the category of architectural environment typology which provides the basis for the research of the paper.Secondly, according to the relevant information such as regional function,building type, age, and so on, this paper selects the representative area of West Lake District of Hangzhou as the research object. From the perspective of Architectural Typology, combined with the impact on energy consumption index, this paper selects building age, plane form, building area, building orientation, building layers, building structure, cold and heat sources as main indicators. A building performance index system based on Architectural Typology is constructed. Based on the correlation analysis, cluster analysis, the index data and annual electricity consumption of sample buildings, the paper selects building age and plane form as two main indicators. On this basis, the paper makes a detailed statistics and classification of the samples, and obtains six kinds of typical building types.Thirdly, this paper selects the typical buildings. Through the field test, the indoor thermal environment, the wind environment and the environmental comfort degree of the typical strip and point building occupants are obtained. Through questionnaire,building area, apartment layout, family structure, air-conditioning power, electricity consumption,window ventilation and air conditioning usage patterns are obtained.Finally, based on the investigation and measurement information, combined with software simulation method, this paper studies and analyzes the energy consumption of types of buildings with different plane form, building orientation, building layers,building area. In the above aspects, the paper puts forward the design optimization scheme for the point building and strip building.
