As an important design factor in urban planning, architectural design, landscape design and interior design,Public facilities is to be taken seriously. It affects the entire image of the space environment. The design quality of public facilities and the completeness of its setting directly reflect the quality of the space environment and the spirit of a city of culture, art, taste and openness. The main focus of today’s street furniture design is still the appearance of the product’s design and function design. In long term, this design approach is isolated, stationary. The design of some of the products not only failed to meet customer needs, they also mislead the direction for use and distort the value orientation of the user. This renders the moral guidance of the design a must. To give design a new value, we should re-build harmonious design concept based on ethics so as to make the society more harmonious. From Ethics perspective, this paper starts from the ethical missing from public facilities and dips into the design of modern urban public facilities so as to expound the value of ethics as well as the basic principles of the design. The history of development and characteristics of the design of public facilities are to be analyzed. From the point of view of ethics, the paper is to give a in-depth analysis of the ethical defects exist in the design of public facilities and try to sum up the street furniture design that is in terms with ethics. In this paper will analyze public facilities in the study design, functional integration, and interaction and finally give a theoretical summary of the design of public facilities which go in line with the ethics of public facilities design principles.
