The number of our country’s residential districts has been increased largely,also the living quality improved apparently after fast-forward urbanism in China.However, most of China’s residential mode currently are simplexgated communities,that city problems have been increasingly prominent,such as traffic block, environmental pollution, uneven public service facilities and the lack of communicative space in cities.It will have positive significance for China’s future residential development,to analyze the relationship between our country’s residential mode and urban planning,and to explore the problems from the vertical dimension of history,as well as the transverse dimension of districts.This thesis mainly talks about the opening and blocking degree of residential districts, and sorts out carefully the theoretical origin and development of them.The districts with same cultural background and economic level in Asian-Pacific area will be made a horizontal comparison,and drawn lessons from successful and failed experience.Combining with the current residential mode,and introducing the ideas of the open block, the renaissance of street vitality and the traffic control, the thesis makes conclusions about the methods to solve the current city problems,including the construction of semi-open residential,themultiplex development of the blocks and the reinstating of the street’s vitality.
