As the battery has been widely applied, management and maintenance of battery requirement have been increasingly urgent. Battery test platform, as an important device, performance requirements will be also increasing. Commonly used for industrial battery, nickel cadmium battery, lithium battery and zinc-silver batteries, through the analysis and comparison of the working principle and performance parameters of the battery, the research has been proposed the battery universal test platform, for these three types of battery charge and discharge management, balanced management and performance testing.This paper has been designed the battery universal test platform of a battery pack, charge and discharge module, balanced management module and display control module. First of all, the working principle of the three types of battery and battery test platform status have been introduced, the function of the battery test platform is proposed, to realize real-time and high accurate detection of the battery voltage, working current, power and other parameters, to complete whole design of the test platform.The system has been mainly divided into three modules, namely, charge and discharge module, balanced management module and display control module. This paper focuses on balanced management module and display control module, charge and discharge module is based on electrical parameters of the system to realize charge and discharge function of battery by using the existing circuit module. Battery sampling unit circuit is detailed analyzed in balanced management module, using chip BQ76PL536to sample battery voltage accuratly, at the same time using switch matrix form to change charge and discharge circuit of single cell, the topology structure and working principle of the module are designed, and power and control circuit of each unit are designed, control circuit uses the chip C8051F040as the core, to realize the balanced function of the single cell. Firstly, Display control module has been formulated CAN and RS232communication association, then the PC software on LabVIEW is been written, to realize interface and communication connection between the various modules.Based on the theory, power circuit, driving circuit and control ciruit of the hardware design of the systm have been set up. Software design, including data acquisition and control, is to realize the function of the modules. Finally each module has been assembled into the whole system. According to the prototype, experimental results have shown the good performance of charge and discharge management, balanced management and performance test through PC interface software, can satisfy the three types of battery for management and maintenance.
