The main pipeline of the project of West-East natural gas transmission is thebackbone pipeline of delivering the western rich energy to the eastern area that needenergy for large demand, Its completion has great strategic significance in promotingstructural adjustment of China’s energy industry, improving living quality of people’salong the pipeline areas and maintaining prosperity and stability in border areas.Some compressor units of pipeline for the project of West-East natural gastransmission are driven by high speed non-salient pole synchronous motor, which hashigh power, high frequency characteristics. The driving system has advantages ofstable operation, low failure rate, easy maintenance, low maintenance cost, savingenergy, reducing consumption, clean and environmental.Firstly, electric driving compressor system of the project of West-East naturalgas transmission and the aspects need paying attention to in the design of high speedmotor were analyzed in the dissertation. In addition, taking capacity20MW a highspeed non-salient pole motor for example, whose the basic data of motor design wasgiven, the magnetic circuit was analyzed by referring to the calculation formulas ofsynchronous motor, when it works in two kinds of generator and motor state,thenthe exciting current, the loss and the efficiency were calculated especially when itworks in the rated condition. The motor’s no-load characteristic curve, operatingcharacteristic curve and V characteristic curve were drawn. The motor parameters inthe no-load condition were calculated by using the finite element method. The no-load characteristic curve and short circuit characteristic curve of the motor weredrawn. The excitation current, rated voltage, rated current and synchronous reactanceunder the rated condition were solved with the field-circuit coupling method andthe results were compared with the design values. Finally, hard and softwareenvironment were summarized in this dissertation. Application of the interpolationfunction in the programming of the high speed synchronous motor CAD system, the CAD system for this type of generator and application of the interpolation function inthe programming of the high speed synchronous motor CAD system, the CADsystem for this type of generator and electric machine were programmed by VisualBasic6.0, the block diagram of the program and the scope of application of the mainfunction about the CAD system were given, the high speed non-salient polesynchronous motor CAD system’s input interface and output interface and itsoperation were described in detail. The system met the requirements of engineeringdesign and received the project acceptance.
