Brushless salient-pole synchronous motor is a new type of electric machine which integrates power electronics and electric machine theory. It has been widely applied in industry production, while there is rarely CAD software for their electromagnetic analysis and other properties.In this paper, based on the equivalent circuit model in the d, q, 0 coordinates of salient synchronous motors, using the standard value system, the electromagnetic system is deduced, and the list flux voltage equation and motor torque expression are calculated and derived. With the motion equation of rotor, the state equation of salient-pole synchronous motor when speed is changing can be established.According to knowledge of the computer-aided design of electrical machines, ways of handling special problems and common algorithm formula, feasible electromagnetic design for salient synchronous motors is proposed, and the flow chart of main program is presented, using Visual C + + for its design process Language.During the design process of electrical machine, a lot of human resources and time can be saved if optimization method is applied. We can get the optimal results in a short period of time. In this paper, traditional methods for the optimal design of the electrical machine are listed. Comparing their advantages and disadvantages, we put forward a new type of global optimization algorithm- genetic algorithm, and establish the mathematical optimization model of a synchronous motor. The design has been optimized.Currently, most of salient synchronous motors start on asynchronous mode, and the induction process is a complex and dynamic process, with electromagnetic and mechanical transition process. Once the starting fail, it will cause great harm to the power grid and peripheral equipments. In this paper, in-depth discussions have been done in two different ways - like static and dynamic analysis of numerical analysis of their induction process of starting, and been written into the CAD software, whose output can be visual, and handled.This software based on Visual C + + language, consists of three modules - the electromagnetic design of integrated module, optimal design module and asynchronous start simulation module. We developed a user-friendly, powerful design software. Through the sample machine calculation, the practicality and accuracy of the software has been verified.
