Sensorless vector control system not only eliminates the need for speed sensor, reduces the volume of the system, reduces costs, but also improves the accuracy and reliability of the operation of the system and has a strong practical value and economic benefits. There are many scholars engaged in research in this area and they have achieved some results in the simulation study, laying a solid foundation for practical applications.This paper designs sensorless vector control system based on Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) for Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM).Firstly, the paper introduces the mathematical model of PMSM and expatiates on the basic principles of rotor field oriented vector control and voltage space vector pulse with modulation (SVPWM). Secondly, the paper analyzes the basic principle of MRAS and derives the rotor speed and positon estimation algorithm based on MRAS. The paper builds a simulation model of sensorless vector control system based on MRAS on the platform of Matlab/Simulink. It has done some simulation experiment in the ease of motor starting, speed changing, load torque changing and has made a analysis of the simulation results.Simulation results show that the sensorless vector control system based on MRAS which is proposed in this paper has a good performance, compared with the traditional sensor vector control system. What’s more, the MRAS algorithm can estimate the rotor speed and position accurately.
