This paper studies the key problem of auto-parts inbound logistics-milk run:the routing and its optimization algorithm, based on the current research achievements on transportation path home and abroad and each enterprise’s practice experience. Milk-run is a that can not only reduce transportation cost, but also provide a more efficient inventory control. How to combine the milk run transportation mode with the real situation in our country to reduce the parts inbound logistics cost of automobile manufacturing enterprises, propel the JIT production and better promote the vehicle industry development in our country has become a theoretical research of vital importance.Combining the research status home and abroad and the application status of milk run, the author analyses its operation principle、operation methods and advantages and disadvantages. An effective routing design can control the cost of high-frequency, small quantity deliveries, which greatly reduces the logistics cost. However, the domestic research on this high-frequency path optimization is limited. According to the real situation of each automobile inbound logistics, the author introduces and builds a milk run routing model based on the characteristics of milk-run, designing pickup path and pickup frequency under the restriction of biggest inventory level. It is more conducive to practical application compared with the traditional routing problem.In solving the model, the author develops genetic algorithm and carries through value validation, which shows the optimization of genetic algorithm. The paper then tests some data from certain automobile manufacturing enterprise in order to compare the performance of this method with the true results of manual test.The paper hopes that this research can provide good suggestions for automobile manufacturing enterprises in the real operation of milk run and further promote the rapid development of domestic automobile manufacturing industry.
