Recently, reticulated shell structure because of its space stress, good seismicperformance, high degree industrialization, better economy, and many other advantages,is widely used in movie theaters, gas station, stadium and other public buildings.Therefore, to obtain both economic and safe design scheme, using the method ofstructural optimization for design of reticulated shell is very scientific, necessary andhas certain practical significance.In this paper, based on full stress method with one dimension search algorithm,the basic principle of the combination and application, in order to solve the flaws ofthe full stress method and often problem such as discrete variables appeared in practicalengineering. According to the related reticulated shell structure design specification, setup the reticulated shell that is the lightest weight as objective function, thickness and bartruss as design variables, strength, stiffness and stability as constraint condition ofoptimization design mathematical model. Combined with ANSYS software of finiteelement analysis and secondary development language APDL programming advantages,calculate the optimization program of the reticulated shell. Results compared with otheroptimization method by an example analysis, show that the method is feasible and theaccuracy of the optimization design program. Finally, analyse optimized reticulatedshell for earthquake modal and transient of dynamic response. Using response spectrummethod and time history analysis method in ANSYS software to optimize the reticulatedshell structure suitability evaluation, the results showed that horizontal seismic responseto random nodes have important contributions, horizontal seismic response is greaterthan the vertical seismic response, the natural vibration characteristics of double layercylindrical reticulated shell is consistent. The results provide a reference basis forpractical engineering design.
