Water conservation and hydro power of domestic and abroad has been developedin recent years. With the construction of the large hydropower station, the HD value ofpressure pipe is increasing. Pressure pipe is an important part of power generationequipment for hydropower station, when a large hydropower station is building, theground condition, the characteristics of giant pipeline, economic factors must beconsidered. However the structure safeties of pipes have very important influence oneconomic factors of hydropower station and national economic interests, so the researchfor pipes of hydropower station has very important practical significance.There are a lot of contacts between structure parameter of pipe and the geologicalenvironment. As a result, it is very necessary to optimize the design of the pipe.Optimization design can greatly speed up the design of the pipe, and can also improvedesign quality, compared with the traditional design method, optimized design can savethe engineering investment, bring big benefit in economy. Compound shape optimaldesign is a direct method of composing intuitive, easy to use and stable effect of a kindof method; it is adopt by many practical workers.Under the background, in order to guarantee the pipe under the condition of safeand reliable operation, to achieve material most provinces with optimal performance,based on the analysis of penstock research present situation and existing problems, onthe basis of combining the theory of optimization design and structural reliabilityprinciple, the penstock was studied on the structural reliability index with the restrictioncondition of the complex method to optimize design research in this paper. In order torealize the reliability analysis and complex optimization of the pipe, the internalpressure, external pressure and stiffening ring outside are established. Combined with3D finite element analysis and the corresponding software, the three kinds of designscheme was adopted to analysis internal pressure of the pipe, including the action ofstress, displacement calculations verify, Besides the buckling mode and critical loadcalculation were considered. Through the above analysis and calculation research, someresearch results were found, however, there are some problems which need to be furtherin-depth study.
