Reinforced concrete frame(RC frame) structures have the advantages of flexiblearrangement, simple construction and less cost, therefore, at present it became themost common form of buildings in China. Frames that are constructed according tothe design and standard strictly, could show the well working performance and meetthe security needs. However, due to the roughness and the long term of constructionprocess, factors as raw material, construction technology, job practice, operation ofstaff member, construction machinery and environment, usually bring constructionerrors. As a result, the mechanical behavior and safety property of structures areaffected to a certain extent, and the structure couldn’t reach the expected reliability,even leading to some hidden dangers. Thus, research on studying the influence on RCframe caused by construction errors, has the significant meaning of improving theinitiative of construction quality control and guaranteeing the reliability of structures.The seismic performance is one of the most important abilities of RC framemember or structure. The reliability theory is introduced after the measured statisticsof some common construction errors are given, and then the methods of calculatingreliability by MATLAB and ANSYS are presented. Finally, from the perspective ofthe member and system,some analyses of the influence, caused by some commonconstruction errors, on the seismic performance of RC frame are given in this thesis.1.When analyzing the influence of construction errors on RC frame member,reinforced concrete beam and column are selected. The reliability calculation is basedon ultimate limit state, four kinds of errors, namely, the cross-sectional dimension, thethickness of concrete lay, the stirrup spacing and the concrete strength are taken intoaccount, and the process are carried out by MATLAB programs. As to beam, thereliabilities of flexural capacity and shear capacity under these errors are listed; as tocolumn, the analysis of influence on the reliability of compressive bearing capacity(eccentric compression) and shear capacity by those errors are given.2.When analyzing the influence of construction errors on RC frame system, limitequation is listed on the basis of the story drift. Three kinds of errors, namely, thecross-sectional dimension, the vertical deviation of column and the materialproperties of concrete (the modulus of elasticity) are taken into account. These errorsare classified by different floors and different locations, and the analysis program is executed on the finite element analysis software-ANSYS. According to thecomparison result, the obvious changes in the failure probability could be observed.Then the key points of construction quality control are found out.
