With the economic development and social progress, centralized power supply system with "large generating units, large power plants and large power grid" as the main feature has been unable to meet people’s demand for power. Moreover, with the energy consumption and environmental pollution, thermal power will be replaced by clean energy. In recent years, distributed generation based on renewable energy get rapid development by virtue of its investment saving, flexible power generation, compatible with the environment, mainly including wind turbine, solar photovoltaic cell, microturbine, fuel cell, biomass power generation and so on. Despite the prominent advantages of the distributed generation, its access to the grid will cause a lot of problems. In order to coordinate the contradictions of the main grid and distributed generation, micro-grid emerges as the times require.This paper mainly studied the optimal scheduling of micro-grid containing distributed energy resource. Firstly, this paper summarized the operation principle and mathematical model of several kinds of distributed energy resource which are widely used in micro-grid, and analysed the scheduling characteristics when its access to the grid, providing a reference for subsequent further research on optimal dispatch of micro-grid. Then, aiming at the distributed generation system consisting of wind turbine, solar photovoltaic cell, microturbine, fuel cell and energy storage device, this paper considered the two running mode of micro-grid as the integrated micro-grid and island operation mode, and combined with the interaction between the micro-grid and the main gird, established the scheduling strategy and objective function of micro-grid considering both environmental protection and economic operation after fully research the mathematical model of each unit of distributed generation. Based on ensuring the energy demand, this paper proposed a multipass iterative particle swarm optimization algorithm suitable for multi-period dynamic optimization to realize optimal dispatch of micro-grid containing distributed energy resource, calculated the output of each distributed energy resource when the comprehensive benefits considering both the operating costs and environmental benefits of the system achieve optimal in satisfying various constraints. Finally, this paper analysed the example of micro-grid in spring and autumn and summer and winter when the micro-grid is in the event of the two running mode as the integrated micro-grid and island operation mode, verifying the effectiveness of the model and algorithm.
