Our country is a great power of mining industry, the emissions of tailings canreach more than300million tons every year, these tailings piled in near8000tailings pond of the industry mine such as the metallurgy industry, buildingmaterial, nonferrous metals industry, chemicalindustry. The tailings pond is ahazard of man-made mud-rock flow with high potential energy, during thedecades of operation, all kinds of adverse factors natural (rain, earthquake, ratholes, etc.) and man-made (mismanagement, imbalance between the workers andpeasants, etc.) can threaten its security all the time or periodically. It has beenproved repeatedly that once the tailings pond crash, it would bring about greatdisaster and losses to industrial and agricultural production and downstreampeople’s life and property, and a profound impact on the environment. the amountof tailings dam accident and fatalities account a large proportion in the area ofmine production safety, and appear multiple trend In recent years, tailing ponfaccidents are often caused by dam instability, collapse, therefore the study on thesafety of tailings dam has great significance.In this paper, base on Collecting and organizing related information, bymethod of combining the limit equilibrium theory and the numerical simulation,reseach the seepage stability analysis, stress and strain analysis, the static stability,dynamic stability analysis and liquefaction hazard of Lingnan tailing pondof Shandong Zhongkuang Group, mainly receive the following achievements.(1)In this paper, first introduces the definition, Composition and propertiesof tailings, composition, types, characteristics and grading of tailings pond, types,characteristics and grading of tailings tailings dam; then reviews the typical casesof tailings dam collapse home and abroad; Analysis of the the cause of tailingspond accident, discusses the present situation and the main safety problems oftailings in our country; after that introduces the basic principle and the stabilityanalysis of tailings dam, and analyzes the factors influencing the safety of tailingsdam, discusses the parameters needed in safety reach and the obtain method.(2)Through analysis the Seepage stability of the present tailings dam ofLingnan tailing pond of Shandong Zhongkuang Group under normal water andflood similation, obtained the tailings dam seepage field distribution inside and the saturation line change rule, result that the tailings dam is stable at present.(3)On the basis of seepage calculation, Through quasi static state analysisof the current situation tailings dam und normal operation, flood operation andspecial operation condition, obtain the internal stress distribution state of tailingsdam under three working condition; also obtain the safety factor of tailings damunder three working condition by the method of limit equilibrium, the resultsshow that the tailings under three conditions are safe and stable.(4)Through the seismic dynamic response analysis on the present situationtailings dam, carry out the regulation of the acceleration of dam crest variationwith the time, conclude the distribution state of shear stress inside the dam whenthe acceleration reach peak.(5)Utilizing grade curve, relative density, SPT, CPT, shear wave velocityand the finite element numerical analysis method, comparative analysis theliquefaction characteristics of tailings dam, find the layer maybe liquefied is①tail Fine sand②tail slit sand, and divided the liquefied area, the results showthat seismic liquefaction is not a material impact on the safety of the tailingspond.
