No matter how complex the hull structure and functional design are, they are allconstituted by many cabins. That whether the design and layout of the cabin equipments andfunctions are reasonable, will directly affect the quality of life and work efficiency of the crew, and ultimately affect the efficient work of the ship and driving safety. Therefore, the study ofship cabin layout has theoretical significance and application value. Among the conditionsthat cabin layout design needs to meet, the system of human-machine environmentengineering plays a leading role. Due to the activities of the crew in the cabin can be seen aswork, for the layout design of working cabin, especially the complex functional cabin, theneeds and the impact that the work content and process produce must also been taken intoaccount. Therefore, the study for applying the system of human-machine environmentengineering and work analysis theory to typical ship cabin layout design is one of theeffective ways to improve the quality of the ship cabin layout design.Based on the ship cabin and the typical work in it, this paper has studied on the designmethods of the cabin layout, and on the premise of fully considering the requirements of thesystem of human-machine environment engineering, it comes up with the methods of thetypical ship cabin layout design focusing on work analysis. In detail, it includes:Having researched on and summed up related theories of human-machine environmentengineering, combined with the general characteristics and special requirements of ship cabinlayout, from the aspects of the crew, cabin facilities and cabin work, the author respectivelyproposes the general requirements of typical ship cabin layout based on the theory ofhuman-machine environment engineering, providing reference for the overall planning phaseof the cabin layout.Based on the general theory and methods of work process analysis, combined with thework characteristics of the typical ship cabin, the author defines the typical functional cabinand work contents to study, and then designs and implements the acquisition plan of workdata and materials based on the process data acquisition and the physical environmental dataacquisition of the typical ship cabin. According to anthropometry, body mechanics, workphysiology and psychology of work, and based on the theory and methods of operationsanalysis and motion analysis, the author analyzes the work contents and process of the typical ship cabin, setting up the work model of the typical ship cabin.Based on the facilities and logistics planning and motion economical principle in thework analysis theory, the author applies assembly process method, PERT method, from-tochart method, human-machine operation analysis method and Captiv-L7000behaviorobservation and motion analysis software to analyze the rationality, consistency and economyof the typical ship cabin work, and then according to the analysis results, the process andmotion of the typical ship cabin work are integrated from the point of improving the workperformance of the crew, and then exploring the design requirements of the typical ship cabinlayout viewed from the crew work point. This topic has proposed the technical approach that applying the system ofhuman-machine environment engineering and work analysis theory to typical ship cabinlayout, expecting to provide a useful reference to the designers of the ship cabin layout.
