Along with the proposal of4.0in industry, production humanization has become an importantdirection for future factory changes. Therefore, the research of ergonomics in plant production fieldwill have major implications for the future factory development. Based on the traditional logisticsoptimization model and the theory of ergonomics, this study proposes unit facilities layoutoptimization method, which takes into account both logistics factors and human factor, in order tosolve the manufacturing unit facility layout problem of manual material handling.Firstly, after analyzing human factor of manufacturing unit, this thesis puts forward themanufacturing unit facility layout evaluation index system by considering both logistics factor andhuman factor, making up for the deficiency of the simple consideration about logistics efficiency andlogistics costs previously.Secondly, in order to take quantitative analysis for the human factor of facility layout, this thesiscomes up with comprehensive evaluation and quantification methods of human factor about manualmaterial handling operations, which assess physical and mental loads and potential injury risk ofmanual handling workers synthetically from four aspects: operating posture, force strength, taskdifficulty and mental stress.Thirdly, this thesis establishes the facility layout design framework by considering human factorand provides analysis process and general technical route of the layout design optimization. Combinedwith the traditional layout planning mathematical model based on logistics, the thesis establishes thefacility layout mathematical model by introducing human factor variable. Moreover, the thesis solvesthe model by using a simplified swarm optimization algorithm, which proposes a new design methodfor facility layout optimization problem. Finally, the case study results show that, considering both human factor and logistics factor whendesigning facility layout, not only can ensure the comparable efficiency to traditional layout, but canreduce the cumulative injury risk of workers when taking handling operations.
