The Design Research To Meet The Demand Of The Senior Apartment Of External Environment In Environmental Ethics Area

Human inhabitation environment now is encountering severe problems with the environmental deterioration. Due to the lack of concern on the vulnerable groups, the demand of exterior environment for the old people’s apartments has not been met. Living confliction and incoordination problems of vulnerable groups have been reflected in the designing activities in various degrees. Typical abuses such as uniformity, ignorance of space quality, neglect of natural value and etcetera, generally exist in exterior environment design of the old people’s apartments. Subjects investigated in environmental ethics are exactly the philosophy problems brought by environmental changes, and the morality problems centered about the relations among human being, society and nature. They are introspections of the human development.This paper was started by posing the research background and motive, expatiating the purpose and significance, establishing the research framework and defining the studied concepts. It confirmed that the article was investigating the exterior environment design of the old people’s apartments from the perspective of environmental ethics. The lack of ethics of old people’s apartments was dissected from five dimensions. Emotional appeal was concluded as the core part of old people’s ethical appeals based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. Requirements on spiritual pension, environmental spirit, cultural characterization, humanism concern, ecological design and aesthetic state were claimed.Guided by environmental ethics principles, social practice were conducted at Junlilian old peple apartments in Changsha city, to build an exterior environment that is easy to be recognized and sensed, to acquire a neat and harmonious exterior environment design, and to discuss the application of environmental ethics in exterior environment design.The study focused on ethical loss of domestic designs from environmental ethics. It cared about old people’s ethical appeal and endeavored for an "ethical designing" academic concepts and value orientation.
