Public Bicycle Transportation Network Planning Research Based On The Trip Investigation

This research topic derived from the Central South University investigation program of graduate innovation practice in2012summer, and the main objective of this program is to do a series of field research on the Zhuzhou’s public bicycle transportation system.Public bicycle is one of modes of transportation chosen by the residents in some cities, and the coexistence of both motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles have become as the characteristics of urban traffic in our country, so to solve the problem well caused by the coexistence of bicycles and motor vehicles is one of effective ways to improve the traffic situation in our country.However, in our country, the specific research about the public bicycle transportation network planning is very rare, and this paper will conduct the research on Zhuzhou’s public bicycle transportation system in the background mentioned above.In the paper, the author firstly summarized the developing history of the public bicycle transportation system, and then summed up the experiences of relevant researches and practices in both domestic and overseas to help plan the Zhuzhou’s public bicycle transportation system.The next step of the research is to do the study on the case of the Zhuzhou’s public bicycle transportation system based on the resident trip investigation:In the first place, the author did the field investigation on the Zhuzhou’s resident trip investigation from the area level. According to investigation we found that,in recent years,zhuzhou’s residents the proportion of bicycles have improved, and the commuter transportation is the main purpose of the bicycle travel, and the travel consumption focus on10to30minutes and trip distance within5km, and the main focus of bicycle traffic flow is concentrated in the stream of the area. And we sums up the problems existing in zhuzhou city public bicycle system. Finally use the TransCAD software predicted the zhuzhou city bicycle traffic demands. After that, the paper would do the research on Zhuzhou’s public bicycle transportation system from the line level. It introduced the basic planning point and rules in advance, and then, it summed up with principle rules on the planning of public bicycle transportation system from traffic zone, traffic corridor, the lane of the public bicycle and the reform of the road section, and finally, it would put forward the practical control guide measures on both the traffic organization in all kinds of area and the relevant design methods on the lane of the public bicycle.The last step is to do the research on the planning project of Zhuzhou public bicycle rental points from the spot level. It introduced the basic principles of the planning project and their design methods, analysed the relationships between the different rental points in the city, and summarized that the allocation planning of the rental points is a kind of planning pattern updating year after year, in addition it also recommended the planning project of the Zhuzhou public bicycle rental points and summed up with the control guide principle on the design of the rental points.At the end of this paper, the author summarized from three aspects including the field research, the lane planning of the public bicycle and the allocation plan of the rental points, in order to put forward some suggestions about improving the public bicycle transportation system in Zhuzhou.75Figures,13tables,50references.
