the extremely volatile load, when the hydraulic excavator is digging, will exert a seriously negative impact on the performance of the excavator power system. This paper intends to study the effect in the following respects:To start with, a brief description of the research status quo of various related studies and the research trend in the area of energy conservation is provided. Also, an analysis of the excavator’s power matching between the diesel engine and the variable pump as well as the properties of the hydraulic system is made.Secondly, we have analyzed the engine speed characteristics, and built a mathematical model of the engine transfer function.It study the theoretical deduction and analysis for the fluctuating load impact on the engine power output. According to different working conditions, the load of digging and unload will collect specimen and analysis frequency. According to the frequency distribution, it proposes corresponding measures for improvement. On the base of analyzing the theory of working principle, it built a mathematical model of the variable pump transfer function. Analyzing transfer function, the key parameters will be discovered which have the difference for the dynamic response performance.The result is used for the optimal constitution design.Thirdly,The paper has established the dynamic simulation model of the Power matching system. With building the pump’s piston motion function and the engine’s component function,the model has be built by the software of AMESim.It’s used for the research the dynamic of the power matching system and the economical efficiency.Fourthly, the paper has researched the dynamic simulation of the constant power variable displacement pump by given the different kinds of fluctuating load and changed the key parameters. Based on the characters of the load and the engine, the structure of the variable pump will be optimized and changed.And, it has made an evaluation for the effect on the structure dynamic response and the fuel economy characteristics. At last, the paper has designed an analog system for the excavator power system.And build an analog test-bed and designed appropriate control algorithm,it can accurately achieve the excavator’s fluctuating load.there are experiment researches on the test-bed.One has researched the fuel economy effect that fluctuating load impact on the engine;the other is tested the variable pump to validate the simulation model.To summarize, the paper has provided a new method for analyse the effect that fluctuating load impact on the power matching system.And, the structure optimization has reduced the fuel consumption. So, the paper has theoretical and practical value.
