As a pillar industry in China, the building industry plays an important role in thenational economy. However, for a very long time, its development and construction isinfamous for low efficiency, high energy consumption and short-lived period. Relateddocuments indicates that the average life expectancy of the buildings in our country is only30years. How to find a construction pattern with sustainable development has become anurgent issue for the building industry at the moment.Cold-formed thin-walled light gauge steel (LGS) structural housing, as anenvironment-friendly residential structure with higher industrialization and technology, fasterconstruction, higher efficiency and lower energy consumption, has been largely applied anddeveloped abroad. This structure is adapted to the requirements of developing low-carboneconomy and land-saving new homes, and, the light gauge steel (LGS) structural housing haspushed the development of housing industry to a higher degree, which is an unavoidabletrend of housing industrialization development in China.This paper systematically concentrates on the light gauge steel (LGS) structuralhousing’s application and development in China and abroad, and precisely summarizes andanalyzes the main structrual system and cladding system of the thin-walled light gauge steel(LGS) structural housing, and further presents the important steps of thin-walled light gaugesteel (LGS) structural housing’s design and construction.Based on the above information, the paper further brings forward a type of moreindustrialised composite wall panel system, and introduces the example that the system hasbeen applied to the governmental affordable housing projects in Brazil, and, discloses someexperimental and practical results of the system, so as to completely demonstrate anindustrialized building construction system. |
