With the development of energy technologies, the power system has become one of thehallmarks of a country’s level of economic development. Electrical energy supply is playing acrucial role in the promotion of industrial development and improving people’s living standards.However, abnormal defects or risks that exist in the operating equipments and facilities willdirectly affect the personal security, affect the reliable and economic operation of equipment, andaffect the equipment lifetime and the power quality. Therefore, to enhance the equipment defectsmanagement, and to improve the defective processing efficiency and equipment health level,have become the most important problems.This article mainly aimed at the primary equipment management of A grid company, theauthor chose the defects data from2010to2012as the sample, researched and analyzed theemergency, major, general defects in the operating equipments, tried to classify the equipmentdefects, introduced and analyzed the typical defects of the main equipment, such as the switchequipment, cables, transformers and reactive power equipment. At the same time differentvoltage grade defects were also analyzed, and the pertinence and preventive measures for theprimary equipment management were put forward.
