The construction of high-speed railway brings comprehensive, profound impaction to theurban space of Dongguan City and will bring local leaps and bounds certainty. The stationtransportation hub and other major transport facilities bring different effects to the region ofinterest and city especially the space surrounding the transportation hub. How to buildhigh-speed railway transportation hub to guide the development of urban space reasonablyhas become one of the hotspots of the current planning session.This paper is about how the high-speed railway effect the inside and outside spatialstructure of Dongguan City. Author takes Dongguan City as a example for the study of apreliminary empirical analysis, Summarize and analysis how the transport facilities effect thedevelopment of urban spase in three different level like the region of interest, the city and thespace surrounding the transportation, and Proposed the analysis framework about how thehigh-speed rail effect the development of the urban space.This thesis is divided into five parts, the first part is an overview about the research ofhow the high-speed rail effect the development of the urban space and take the internationalsuccess an examples to summarize its useful experience. The second part is an analysis in thelevel of the Pearl River Delta region which used the gravity model to explain the increasedgravitational effect corridor effect and urban integration effect caused by the abbreviatedtransport time after the high-speed railway is build. The third part is an analysis in the level ofthe city. After analysis the develop of the outside and inside transport pattern of DongguanCity, the author believes the new high-speed railway station will make the west area ofDongguan City more flourishing and will build a new center in eastern area. Due to theexclusive passenger attract by the high-speed railway, Dongguan City will develop its thirdindustrial primarily. The forth part is an analysis in the level of space surrounding by thehigh-speed railway station. After made field research about the Humen station, the newDongguan station and Changping station, with related research and demonstration it foundsthat this three stations have significantly developed conditions and had the initial development.After the survey questionnaire about the station s surrounding area,the author had summarizethe passenger s characteristics and objectivity,think that, the old city center and the areasurrounding the station should have dislocation development, seize opportunities fordevelopment of railway crossings,and focus on the realization value of transportation andfunctional value, made suitable for the development of commercial exhibition industry andhigh-end ancillary services, real estate, etc. and pay attention to develop the related services of travel.The fifth part summarizes the main conclusions of this thesis,and presented the lack ofthis thesis and the research prospects next.This thesis has its own characteristics, it has analysis the planning of the high-speedrailway and the station comprehensively from the macro to the meso and micro level, it makesdifferent effects to different space of different city, and summarize the framework ofanalyzing of the effect to the space. The main deficiencies in this thesis are the limitations ofthe examples and the subjectivity of the data and cases’ analyzing.
