The Construction Of Digital Substation Based On Standard IEC61850

A new type of substation technology, that is Digital Substation Technology, has been developed in recent years with the rapid development of Information Technology, Microelectronic Technology, and Network Communication Technique. As its unique technical advantage, more and more attention was focused on digital substation both at home and abroad. Some large domestic and overseas power research institutions are actively performing a lot of researches related to digital substation and extending the results into exemplary implements.The paper firstly introduces the research background and significance, as well as the development situation at home and abroad. Based on the full understanding of Standard IEC61850and related international standards, the real-time performance of the communication network between substations in the Ethernet is studied. This study verifies that the message can be effectively reduced based on the use of GOOSE message, so that the requirement of automation and real-time performance are reached. In addition, the paper analyzes and summarizes current problems in digital substation performance, and indicates the future research direction.This paper will focus on analyzing and summarizing the ways of the implementation of the domestic digital substation project, and propose the feasible technology solutions to problems which may arise in the project implementation. Furthermore, this paper will lay a solid technical foundation for the development of the digital substation technology.
