In the field medical equipment manufacturing, it is common that Chinese medical equipment manufacturing enterprises lack the innovation design ability. Thus, it is particularly important to do the computerization, integration, reuse and management of the information from a variety of sources which was involved in the medical equipment innovative design process.According to the characteristics of the medical equipment design knowledge, we combine Ontology theory and Modular Design Concepts to do the knowledge representation. With this improved knowledge representation method, we can do knowledge representation effectively and it can help you overcome the limitations of other knowledge representation methods. KBE technology can to help you to manage the information which was already computerised by ontology theory, and KBE technology can also help to share and reuse knowledge within the company, to develop the company’s knowledge storage and knowledge capital, to make a high-usage of the company’s existing knowledge. In this paper, the difficulty we confront in the innovative design process can be solved by using improved controdiction matrix. By turning these problems into the standard TRIZ problems, we can then use the improved controdiction matrix and theories of TRIZ to solve them.In this paper, we discuss the feasibility of medical equipment product innovative design system and then validate the theories we proposed by taking dental treatment innovative design system as an example.
